The Lost Bride & Me

Me: Hello.  Congratulations!  How can I help you?

Bride:  I just started my wedding and it's a year from now. We'll have from 200-300 guests and I want everything to look beautiful and all the guests to have a great time.  I watch every wedding program on TV and read most of the wedding magazines, also I'm using a wedding planning workbook.

Me:  Great! Already the passion  for the event is here.  Okay, what's your budget?

Bride: I don't know. I need to ask my Mom.

Me: First things first, find out how much money is available or your Budget for the wedding.  Wedding Costs matter for most of the Brides and their families.  Prior to making an investment or committing yourself to any contract for your event, seek any local wedding guidance (Regardless how many TV shows you've seen).  Gain some wedding vendor business knowledge from somebody with experience in weddings. It could be the cake lady with approximately 20 years of experience or someone like me.  Ask the right questions, for example; recommendations for venues, consultants, DJs, etc... Then do the same thing with other experiences or seasoned vendors. Until you get familar with the best and most reliable vendors that match your budget.

Manage Your Budget Right

Track your planned and actual expenses with priorities on what matters the most for you (not on what your book recommends). For example; if you want your wedding to look beautiful, plan on realistic expenses for the decoration. For great videos, get the best videographer which may cost a little more.  Manage the variance of each expense so you know immediately if you are under, over or on track with your wedding budget. Wedding software  is a great tool for controlling wedding costs if you have the time and like to control most of the aspects of your event.   If you do not like to manage and need some more guidance you may need me.
