Wedding Planning Guidance
Congratulations on your engagement! Start planning now. It will be fun.
Here is my guidance for your planning.
- Gone are the days when wedding planning was the sole responsibility of the bride and her mother. If your fiancé is happily going about his life while you are out alone talking to the florist, caterer, baker, stationer, DJ, etc., it's time to get him involved in the planning of what will be the most special day of your lives together—your wedding day! After all, planning this day will probably be the first major project of your life together. It's important for both of you to feel connected to this process.
- Know your financial limits. Budget your wedding. Hire a Bridal Consultant.Your wedding planning process with the type of wedding you wish to have along with how much money is available to fund this event will greatly enhance your wedding planning process.
- Organize your wedding planning team (sample: mom, dad, groom, consultant..) all that you belive wil be an asset. Prior to make an investment planning decision such as reception site or photographer use the planning team, just like a business meeting. It will be fun and smart. Four or five brains think better than one. Just use common sense and learn to listen if needed. For a business comparison listen to the experts on the wedding business such as your consultant. The size of the guest list is one of the most important issues to discuss.
- Don't try to do everything all at once. Start by gathering information. Use the Net to gather ideas from around the world. Make an extensive list of "things you like", "things you want" and "things you must have" (see the difference?) Flowers? Theme? Venue? Religious rituals? Honeymoon?
- Now make list. Start backwards with your Honeymoon. Some get so involve with the ceremony and the reception that the priority of the honeymoon take the back seat and you may end up on your closest theme park. Any detailed list can be break into manageable portions with the help of your consultant. For before, during and after the wedding.
- Remember It is your wedding, also a reflection of yourself. No one should dictate to you what to do and how to do it. You may seek advice, ideas and wisdom but in the end each final decision is yours. Don't be shy, add your personal touches. Such as selecting the music, colors, food, cake flavor, or theme.
- Pick a few aspects of your wedding and make them personalized. A personal touch makes a wedding meaningful to the bridal couple, their attendants, family and all invited guests. Your coordinator will help you with many ideas.
Don't let the planning overwhelm you. You don't want to be at the point that you just want this day over with. If you are planning the wedding yourself and feel that it is just too much for you, hire a Professional Bridal Consultant. If the planning of your wedding and reception has ceased to be fun, that's a pretty good indicator that it is time for some assistance.
The Wedding planning that is done should be considered as part of the wedding, and therefore should be fun, and memorable.
